The system has to fit the water—not the other way around.
A whole-house carbon system may improve disinfectant taste or odor throughout a home, but it is not automatically a solution for hardness, lead, PFAS, microorganisms, or well-water chemistry. The reduction claim, treatment media, and service flow must match the documented job.
Before comparing equipment, identify the water source, obtain the most relevant current report or test, and decide whether treatment is needed at one fixture or every tap.

City-water households comfortable with frequent prefilter changes and a 7 GPM rated flow.
The household’s calculated peak demand exceeds 7 GPM or you want a broad exact-model contaminant certification record.

What we verify before a product can rank.
- What exact contaminant or aesthetic issue is the model independently certified to reduce?
- What is the rated service flow, and what pressure drop occurs at that flow?
- How much media is present, and what event ends its rated service life?
- What sediment prefiltration is required, and how often will it need replacement?
- What do replacement media, disposal, installation, and required service cost over ten years?
- Does the warranty cover media, valves, tanks, and labor—or only selected components?
